Hi you, I’m Cheryl! As a mom of three young kids with elderly parents, I’ve discovered that luxury hotel club lounges are the perfect sanctuary when it comes to traveling the world. With the whole family in tow, we all recently stayed for two weeks at the Grand Hyatt Taipei with Grand Club Lounge Access and it became a necessary haven for us, especially with the littles and the elders. It made our trip so much more enjoyable and luxurious, so much so that I felt compelled to start a travel blog documenting Club Lounge life!
Let’s face it, travel is rarely smooth sailing. Delays, cranky kids, schlupping luggage – lounges provide a haven to regroup. When we weren’t in the mood for stinky tofu at a blazing hot and humid night market, we retreated to the Grand Hyatt Taipei Club Lounge for freshly steamed pork shu mai and ice cold flutes of brut and sparkling Evian. While dining out in Taipei was delicious and a culinary adventure at every noodle stand, hot pot restaurant and soup dumpling mega restaurants, dragging our stroller up mismatched steps in an alleyway for noodles and encouraging tired kids to stay still while we waited to place our orders grew trying for everyone.
Instead, waiting for us on Floor 22, the Grand Club level, was a whole spread of hot appetizers and a featured hot main entree, along with beautiful desserts, canapés, fresh assorted bread with housemade blueberry and strawberry jams and quinoa butter with endless coffees, fresh-squeezed juices and a whole hosted bar. The Grand Club became our healthy five-star eating in the heart of Xinyi District and remains a personal favorite of mine when it comes to our food memories.
I’m inspired to seek out club lounges specifically for traveling now, and my goal is to help you find those spaces where you can recharge, snack on something delicious, and maybe even enjoy a glass of wine before the next leg of your journey.
